I'm not perfect, and neither is my camera

In a world of perfection, let's rebel and seek imperfection

The email I’m anticipating stares at me: West Camera sent you Stephanie 405635 via WeTransfer. My digital prints are ready, meaning my 33mm physical prints are too. I don’t dare open the link.

Glossy prints in hand > digital link.

I bolt immediately to 690 Queen Street West and I’m handed a sticky flap rectangle envelope. I retreat to the car; the dopamine high, is high!

First 5 are blank, the malfunctioning rewind button, the culprit. I opened the back, attempted to feed rewind and exposed the film.

Reminder: Drop my parent’s beloved camera I used for the first time in 30 years for repair.

Then they appear one after another, the double exposures and blurry selfies (which I hilariously thought would be in focus).

Delete Reminder.

Do not repair camera.

Seek to perfect photography style of perfect imperfections.
